A Book that Made Me Cry

                          “The Light We Lost”

Sometimes the book you read will remain with you. It is all about the investment of your attention. No matter how tragically sad the story is, if you are not invested in the characters, you’re not going to cry.

The question is why would you want to read a book that will make you cry? The thing is, it takes a special kind of book that matches your mood and makes you cry.

Although, it depends on a book whether it’s sad, emotional or tragic enough…, for me I’ve never had a feeling of crying while reading a book!

Strange?

But again, it takes a special kind of book that matches your mood and makes you cry.

There are some books that hold your heart; those books give you something painful to learn. Last week, I finished reading a book, The Light We Lost.”  It has a sad but technically very powerful ending. It is the most beautifully written, powerful, and sexy novel I have ever read.

The Light We Lost grabbed my attention from the beginning and just refused to let me go. Author Jill Santopolo has given such a remarkable love story that enthralled the reader. It can surprise them and ultimately, move me. It shows the importance of people who love us without reason, the importance of timely decisions, and choosing the right things. It teaches the importance of following the desire of your heart and pains of regret.

The author revealed that while the book is not autobiographical, the story did come from a personal place. … She admitted that there are similarities between what she experienced and what Lucy ( protagonist) experienced.

Well, it’s true that sometimes your experiences inspire you to write. Jill Santopolo has given us an emotional and heart-touching read. At least, it inspired me, and a lot of others like me.

To me a book that can hold your attention hooks you to its journey, and lets you feel.

Write to me in the comments that which book made you cry or sad enough to remember it?
